Know your cycle. Keep it to yourself.

Dewring is a period tracker for iPhone that learns from your own cycles. Everything you log stays on your phone, and the people who make it can’t see any of it.

Dewring is in beta on iPhone. How your data is kept

Move across the garden, or tap a plant.

What it does

Made to help you learn about yourself.

Log a day in a few taps and see what’s likely next, worked out from your own cycles rather than anyone else’s.

On iPhone, today on day 3 of a period: the period likely ends around November 10 and is usually lighter from tomorrow.
On iPhone, the Today screen: day 10 of the cycle, shown as a ring of beads, with the next period likely around November 28, between November 26 and 30.
On iPhone, the breathing pause at night: a red hibiscus half open, the words And out, slowly, and 54 seconds left.
Screens from the app with sample data. None of this is anyone’s real log.

Log a day in seconds

Period days and flow, symptoms and notes. During a period, one tap logs the same as yesterday.

Know what’s likely next

Your next period as a range that’s honest about how much your cycles vary. Waking temperatures and ovulation tests narrow it if you log them, and a quiet reminder can come before it. How estimates work

See it all at once

A calendar of past and expected days, a temperature chart, and a clear summary of your cycles to take to a doctor.

Yours to keep, or to leave

Lock it with Face ID. Connect Apple Health and it reads only what you choose, never writing to it. Export everything as one open file, or delete everything from the phone.

The garden

A garden that follows your cycle.

The plants in Dewring change with your cycle, on the screens that already show it. There are no streaks to keep, and nothing wilts if you miss a day.

The first screen is the same every day. On a period day the dot of the i turns red, and that is all it shows.

On iPhone, the first screen: the Dewring wordmark with a red dew drop for the dot of the i, over a garden of tropical plants.

Dew gathers on the leaves, and the garden rests.

A made-up 28-day cycle. In the app, fertile days stay hidden until you turn them on. The ring walks through the days by itself; drag around it to stop.

Your data

Your cycle is nobody’s business model.

A health app doesn’t need your data to be useful. Dewring gives you the tracking and leaves the data with you. These four lines sit at the top of its Settings, copied here word for word.

  • Kept only on this iPhone, encrypted while it’s locked.

  • Readable only by you. Not by us, not by advertisers, not by a cloud backup.

  • This app has no way to reach the internet.

  • It leaves only when you export or share it yourself.

    For the hard days

    Breathe for a minute.

The app has a one-minute breathing pause: in for four seconds, out for six. A hibiscus opens as you breathe in and folds as you breathe out. Try it here.

    Take a minute

    Nothing here is saved.

    What it isn’t

    Clear about its limits.

It isn’t contraception, and no day is safe to rely on. It isn’t a medical device and doesn’t diagnose anything. Estimates come from your own past cycles and can be wrong. For anything about your health, talk to a doctor or nurse.

    Your data stays yours.

Most apps are built to collect what you put into them. An app powered by Synaping is built the other way round: what you record stays on your own devices, under your own keys.

In this app that means your log never goes to a server at all.
